Hulu to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The latest Far Cry instalment that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and was released on October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for embracing action and madness with the same enthusiasm, all while presenting gripping, politically driven narratives. It’s no surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two producers whose projects have exemplified all of those qualities.

Show Details

Inspired by Ubisoft's successful video game franchise, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' format by featuring a new backdrop and ensemble in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we do not know what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX team constantly supports me with their constant trust and support.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style show. Every instalment is a variation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can change from season to season, while always delving into the core of people through this intricate and chaotic viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m eager to work with Rob and present our common irreverent, ambitious approach to the audience.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
