Prince William Set to Attend COP30 Climate Summit in Brazil
The Prince of Wales is scheduled to attend the COP30 climate summit in South America next month, as announced by royal officials.
Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday night at a event ahead of the environmental conference, which is scheduled to take place in the Amazonian city of Belém.
The royal pair were in attendance at the scientific institution event, marking an unusual joint appearance at a pre-COP30 gathering organized in partnership with the United Kingdom administration.
Environmental Advocacy Commitment
King Charles has been a consistent supporter of biodiversity preservation - and the Prince of Wales has inherited the mission, with his own environmental prize initiative, which will be hosted in Rio before the climate conference.
Palace insiders have portrayed the Prince's participation at the next COP as taking on an significant responsibility in "climate diplomacy".
Previous Activities
The monarch and his heir, arriving together in the royal vehicle, were greeted attendees such as environmentalists, researchers, climate change campaigners, foreign representatives and government officials.
This participation featured addresses together with President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic and other world leaders at the Marine Economy Conference in Monaco in recent months.
Environmental Prize Link
The climate conference will align with the prince's own Earthshot environmental awards, which will finish in Rio de Janeiro the day before he attends the COP summit on the sixth of November.

The monarch has been a prominent presence at past COP meetings, giving the opening address in Dubai for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the statement: "Our responsibility is to protect the world we inhabit".
